"Miss Elinor Dashwood" Cloth Art Doll Figure
"Miss Dashwood had a delicate complexion, regular features and remarkably pretty figure... Elinor possessed a strength of understanding, and coolness of judgment...She had an excellent heart; - her disposition was affectionate, and her feelings were strong; but she knew how to govern them."
Inspired by the character in Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" - the one-of-a-kind handmade figure is 16 inches tall. Made of vintage printed Indian cotton, she has a hand painted face with intelligent expression. She is embellished with beads, buttons, couched yarn and embroidery. She wears a vintage silk skirt decorated with lace, flower petals and beads. She carries several sweet charms including miniatures of Elinor's drawing tablet and tools, and has a small case to hold her charcoals and art supplies, which readers of the book know is her most beloved activity. Her hair is made from a profusion of yarns.
Place her on a shelf, or mantel, to remind you of the adventures you can find in great literature and inspire your own imagination. Elinor is patient and represents absolute integrity, but is rewarded in the end with the true love of a perfectly compatible person.
