"Miss Marianne Dashwood" cloth art doll figure
"She was sensible and clever; but eager in everything: her sorrows, her joys, could have no moderation. She was generous, amiable, interesting: she was everything but prudent...Her face was so lovely, that when in the common cant of praise she was called a beautiful girl, truth was less violently outraged than usually happens."
Inspired by the character in Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility", this 16 inch one-of-a-kind art doll is made of floral poly-cotton, with a hand painted face. She is heavily embellished with beads, sequins, buttons, couched yarn and colorful embroidery. She wears a vintage silk skirt trimmed with antique lace, woven ribbon, and broderie anglaise. She carries several charms including her miniature sheet music and one of her letters, and her hair is a profusion of yarns.
Set her on a shelf, mantel or piano to remind you to dream beautiful dreams and never give up on love.
